History of the golf club

1991 – 1998	The ideas of the construction of the golf course in the area of Františkovy Lázně span till the beginning of the 90-s of the past century when the pastor of the whole project Mr. Manfred Nietert had and found the most suitable area for the construction of a golf course in the surroundings of the town (village) Hazlov. The golf area is placed westwards from the town of Františkovy Lázně in Hazlov – Ovčín and uses fully the ground varieties of the Natural Park in the reservation landscape Halštrof area in the Aš.
1998 – 2000	The buying of 120 hectares of grounds and the conclusion of contracts for a long-time hire of other sites which was the principal step to the beginning of works on the project and of the seeding of the golf area. The golf course itself was drawn with the sympathy for the surrounding landscape by the German and English atchitects Heinz Fehring and Peter Wollker so that the surroungings woods, old trees, natural ponds make impression of an older institution.
2001 – 2003	The reconstruction of a family house was made. It was changed into a clubhouse with refreshment, cloakrooms, showers and toilets. The construction of the golf course has been made at the sea level of cca 500 m at the area of 73 ha. The golf area has standard parameters and include 18 holes. Its length is 6114 m. Its dificulty is 72 par , icluding the exercise areas – driving range putting and chipping greens.
22.08.2002	Establishment of the limited partnership Golf Resort Františkovy Lázně.
21.09.2002	Training areas - Introduction into activity.
19.02.2003	Golf Club Františkovy Lázně registered as a civic associacion.
01.03.2003	The Golf Club Františkovy Lázně was accepted as the member of the Czech Golf Federation.
10.08.2003	Cermonial opening of the golf area and its putting into operation.
2005 - 2006	The period of reconstruction of the front part of the original agricultural buildings into a clubhouse with a complex backround -. Restaurant with a terrace, sanity installations – toilets, cloakrooms and showers, reception, Pro Shop, Indoorgolf, the flat for the housekeeper, garages for electrical carts, Wi-Fi internet connection etc.
2006 – 2007	Continuation of reconstruction of the back part of the original agricultural buildings and transformation into the technical backround for the maintenance of the golf course.

The local conditions of climat let predominate the beautiful landscape around the golf course. The colourful variety of the countryside became a huge attraction for many players not only from inland but also from abroad. According to our visitors it is possible to rank the course in Františkovy Lázně- Hazlov among the best ones – not only in this land but also in the Czech-German border region.

The course is operated by the Company Golf Resort Františkovy Lázně which was founded for this purpose in 2002. The golf club with the name Golfclub Františkovy Lázně was founded as a civic corporation in February 2003. It was adopted as the member of the Czech Golf Federation.
